Illinois and Iowa Quad Cities Chambers build joint-venture E.D. strategyR&M is pleased to have as its newest client the bi-state economic development joint venture led by the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce and its counterpart, the Iowa Quad Cities Chamber.
Together, the two organizations represent a region of nearly 500,000 in population anchored by the historic Mississippi River towns of Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Moline and Rock Island, Illinois.
Chamber CEOs Rick Baker (IL) and Tara Barney (IA) have led a historic effort at overcoming parochialism and building regional unity for this Midwestern metropolitan area, and recognize considerable support from the private sector, municipal and county governments on both sides of the river. Among the major employers in the region are the Rock Island Arsenal, John Deere, two major health care systems (Genesis and Trinity), and an impressive number of manufacturing and distribution companies.
