New CEO takes charge at McHenry County EDC…

Pam Cumpata hit the ground running on July 8 as the new President and CEO of the McHenry County EDC in northwest suburban Chicagoland. The response from business and government has been overwhelmingly positive.

Even in a down economy, McHenry County’s private business leaders are rallying around Cumpata and solidifying their commitments to support a strong economic agenda. The campaign, begun in March 2009 with a vacancy in the CEO position, presented special challenges to R&M’s fundraising team of Mike McCarthy and Susan Blansett. With the help of a courageous board of directors and dedicated staff, they have shepherded MCEDC through an ambitious reinvention that is now paying off. More than 20 lead-level investors will soon be convened as the MC5 Leadership Council – a privately led leadership group to instigate transformational projects that will build wealth and job opportunity.
