Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Case Study

R&M Resource Development developed and implemented a successful economic development campaign for the seven County Denver region called BreakThrough! Denver. The Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation set a ten-year economic vision with a specific five-year work program devoted to creating 100,000 new jobs in the Denver area. The 13-month campaign raised $13.3 million, which includes substantial increases in public sector support, and totaling 170 private-sector investors. The economic development budget grew from $990,000 per year to $2.66 million. This program is a new chapter for Denver, paralleling a previous organization, The Greater Denver Corporation, existing in the mid 1980’s to mid 1990’s. The success of this capital campaign is a landmark event and represents a model every economic development group in North America admires and strives for.
