Mike has made over 8,000 one to one top solicitation calls and has raised over $300 million in the approximately 100 capital campaigns he has headed over the last twenty years. He is nationally and internationally recognized as a top economic development strategist and fund-raiser.

With 40 years of experience in economic development, Mike has been a Certified Economic Developer (C.E.D.) since 1982. He received his Fellow Member (FM) designation in 1992. He is a former Chairman of the American Economic Development Council (AEDC) Certification Board and a former member of the AEDC Board of Directors. He has written several articles on the subject of economic development and taught at the Economic Development Institute in Norman, Oklahoma and Indianapolis.

Mike has worked in every facet of economic development - from military re-use and revitalization of downtown areas to attraction of new industries, leading successful international trade missions, and developing successful workforce development initiatives. He is former President of the Columbus (Ohio) Chamber of Commerce, and was Deputy Director of International Trade, State of Ohio.

Most recently, he has designed and directed economic development and funding campaigns for Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, St. Louis, MO, Toronto, ON, DIA Partnership-Aurora, CO, Redding, CA, New Orleans, LA, Denver, CO, Knoxville, TN, Northern Colorado EDC, CO, Will County, IL, and Springfield, IL.

Mike has a BS degree from Lake Superior State University and an M.B.A. from Central Michigan University. He resides in Winter Park, Colorado, and has a strong interest in Irish cultural affairs. He is an avid skier, motorcyclist, and fly-fisherman.
