Springfield Ranked Top IL City for Job Growth

According to New Geography’s list of 2011’s Best Cities for Job Growth, Springfield ranks 1st out of Illinois Cities, #28 of 243 among Small Cities and #37 of 398 SMAs across the U.S.

“While the economy has struggled to regain its footing from the recent recession, we are seeing signs of life in job growth,” noted Gary Plummer, President & CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

These recent rankings add to positive momentum in the Springfield/Sangamon County region, which has also been recognized as:

• 7th Least Expensive City (Kiplinger Real Estate)
